hp wireless mouse quit working on my sony vaio laptop. the mouse has light at bottom, but the receiver has no light

Battery?
Mouse worked great and all of a suddern it stopped working. I can not see a battery. if there is one, how do I change it out??

Setup
Brand new Acer Aspire with keyboard, mouse, and speakers. Keyboard is media-type, but is nonresponsive. Do I need a driver or software to load the keyboard? If so, I cannot locate one at Acer support. It should have been on installation disk, but doesn't seem to be. Thank you for your support.

Keyboards not working
We have 15 sets of these keyboards @ a dentist office. They have been working for 3 years. Within the last month many of them randomly stop working. We reboot the computer (2 to 4 time)and eventually it will start working again.

Keyboard doesn't work well
The keyboard goes into standby mode and it be taken out of standby mode. I have tried tapping on the mousepad or tapping the spacebar. Nothing works. How do I take it out of standby mode?

FN keys.
I don't know how to turn off the blue FN keys. eg: type i and get blue number 5 or type p and get blue star. Don't have any idea how they got turned on either
