Ice Maker failure

High pitched noise from indoor unit
After 3 years of no trouble, the inside unit of my split system air-conditioner now makes a very high pitched noise when in the cooling mode. The sound is like a tree full of cicadas in the distance. It's only just on the threshold of audibility.

Cycle not starting
My machine will not start. All lights are on, set it up to go and it just sits there flashing like it's thinking of starting then all the lights from the water temp list to the right of the machine start flashing.
