Starter Rope will not retract
When pulling on the starter rope the rope does not retract onto the wheel. I have carefully examined the wheel and it doesn't seem to be rubbing on any of the housing. The wheel does turn and I can retract the rope manually.

No rotation
While cutting large branches off an old tree, the blade stopped rotating the chain. The engine runs and sounds normal. Not sure why the chain is not rotating??? Oil was and is at normal level. Please advise.

fuel lines
Recently tried to crank blower only to discover both fuel lines had rotted. The filter was laying in the bottom of the gas tank. Does the filter connect to the larger or smaller hose?

I removed the carb. and now I'm confessed where the fuels go. I think the line coming from the filter goes to choke side of carb. and the small from the prime goes to the prime side of the carb.

Carb adjustments
My carb was adjusted by my kids - now all screwed up-and out. Where can I set the high/low adjustment screws to get the saw just to start? I'll fine adjust then.

The spocket end of oil pump assembly has teeth to drive pump but nothing on sprocket to drive it.I think a plastic gear of somekind is missing.

Engine will not start
There is no spark. The blower has been use less than 10 times. I suspect it may be the coil but others may have had the same problem and know a solution. HELP

Bar problem
There is a small hole in the bar where it slips onto a stud that makes it possible to tighten the chain.....the chain must have been too tight and the stud broke off. I dont know what the part is called. Can it be replaced ?

High idle/stalling
Looking for any help. My Poulan 4218 just isn't running well. It sometimes idles high and the chain wont stop. Sometimes idle is good but when I try to give it gas, it stalls. Saw stops running when hot
I have a new Poulan P3314 which will run fine for about 5 minutes, then stop as if the ignition switch had been turned off. Won't start until cool.

won't start.
machine has low operating hours, but the lazy bugger just won't start. replaced the plug, does not seem to be sparking. how difficult is it to replace the ignition module, or is it worth repairing.

excess fuel
after replacing a deteriorated and broken fuel hose, the carborator draws excessive fuel. If I pinch the supply hose with a pliers, it runs at normal speed (for a short while).
bottom has a removable lid and had a 'loose' aluminum rectangle with round ends that seems to fit in a slot.

DEspite installing a new spark plug, air filter and switching old fuel mixture (and making new oil-fuel mixture using fresh gasoline & 2 cycle additive), my 2500 Farm Hand will not start. Any ideas, suggestions?

Starting problems
Hard to start when cold. Once started runs good and at a quarter tank it speeds up and then dies. Once filled it starts still is hard to start. Replace broken fuel line last year.

Engine problem
My blower will only run if the choke lever is teetered between full choke and 1/2 choke. It never has run with the choke completely off but now it needs nearly a full choke to run and it runs at a low RPM, Any suggestions? Where can I get a service manual, I am pretty handy?

I recently replaced the pull rope and found my spring/ coil under the rope spool was not seated and unraveling. Is there an easy way to re-coil the spring? if so how?
