JVC Camcorder/Digital Camera GR-D70U

black lense

When I try to video or snapshot anything, the camera lense is black. The lense cap is OFF and there is nothing that appears on the screen. I also have changed batteries twice now, because it will not keep a charge for longer than an hour at a time.
