Horizon Fitness Home Gym MODEL : SXS 5.7

Parts Missing

we just purchased a Horizon SXS 5.7 from Sears. It seems like weights are missing and the top plate of the weights with the bayonet has a 2 in. gap from the rest of the weights. Base came with scratches. How do I go about getting this problem resolved. This was a birthday present and I want my son to be able to use this and do not want him getting hurt. We followed the instructions to the T. It would be very hard for us to disassemble this and return it to the store. Thank you for your quick response.
