The alarm - HOW to set

I am setting the alarm. For example to 6pm. The bell and alarm icon appear in the time window to lower right. But, the alarm never goes off. And , I have tried each of the alarm icon settings. The manual with the watch is WORTHLESS. how DO i SET THE WATCH TO GO OFF FOR EXAMPLE AN HOUR FROM now, say 7pm? AGAIN, I Know HOW to set the alarm, it appears set for the time I set with all alarm icons in the time window, bot no alearm ever goes off. How many beeps should I hear for the alarm?
