Kidde Smoke Detector 1275

removal of ac quick connector

product 'chirping' - with no user guide available and only the embossed (vague) instructions on unit, it is unclear how to remove the connector to check/replace
the battery but it is clear that there is a possibility of electrical shock in the process. please advise asap as this unit is in my bedroom and i am being chirped into madness!
