Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker FTX45

will not deliver water to basket

water heats up but does not
come up into the filter
basket.

    We had this same problem with our 2 month old FTX41. Water would come into the basket--- if you were willing to wait half an hour or more and keep turning the thing off and on. Write a letter of complaint to Mr. Coffee. They replaced ours FOC BUT, with a model not listed on their site, only on E-Bay which makes me just a tad suspicious. We received an XTF45-1 as a replacement. There is an XTF45 which had the features we initially liked - an audible beep when brew complete plus an adjustable warming plate. The FTX45"-1" was definitely minus a couple of nice features - the adjustable warming plate and beeper. (They should have named it the FTX45-2. Those were two features which enticed me to buy the FTX41. I am hoping they will accept this new one back and exchange it for what we had initially. They do respond quickly to an e-mail.
