Sharp Projector PG-B10S

I have had this projector from new and having seen another of the same model, realise how poor the quality of my text is.It seems to be very blotchy i.e. not black but a hazy mixture of black, grey & white. No matter what I cannot improve it. The only way is to enlarge the image and then it becomes clear (but you lose part of the image). The only adjustments that have any effect are Clock, & H-POS, V-Pos)but they only marginally improve the image. Any ideas please?
