Panasonic Answering Machine KX-TG5771

I can't press anything!

I was wondering if you would have any possible explanation for me. When I press the buttons on the base, none of them work. I cannot check the messages that I have recieved on the base, I cannot change the ringtone of the base (Which happens to be VERY annoying, and VERY loud) I can't even turn on the speaker phone. Is there anything that I can do at home to fix this problem, the phone is not more than 6 months old. Both headsets do work fine.
