Hewlett-Packard Laser Printer LaserJet 1020 Printer

i'm trying to print avery labels #05105 and using their template in microsoft word...all goes well until it goes to this printer and once in a while, it takes the labels from the upper tray, but mostly it is printing my labels on a piece of paper which is of no use to me . what am i missing?
