    I'm actually on here looking for a manual or for somebody who can tell me how to remove this stupid thing (the stereo)! I too receive "ER 6", MOST of the time, when I try to play a CD; that's ONE of the main reasons I want to get rid of it! Presumably, "ER" is short for "Error" and "6" is the error #. At first, I thought it couldn't read the dics (dirty lens, scratches, etc) HOWEVER, this morning I figured-out (on my own[!!!]) that I don't get that error msg. when I play a CD w the car NOT RUNNING. Sorry-- I know, that still doesn't really answer the question-- hope it helps, though!
