screen is dark when i record

the LCD screen is black whenever i try to record onto the tape or the memory stick. However the LCD features work. you can view tapes or memory sticks that have been previously recorded. ad even though the screen remains blank or actually black during recording , the LCD feature works you can access the menus and you can record audio
