I had a paper jam, then I removed the paper. I still receive the error message – PAPER JAM OPEN REG COVER. How do I fix this problem?

I BOUGHT NEW CHARGER AND BATTERIES, AND STILL WILL NOT CHARGE. IT DOES WORK WHEN PLUGED IN TO WALL OUTLET.
