It will eject a tape then power off even in DVD mode. It will open the tape door a little even without a tape and then power off. It has done this since we lost power due to Ike.

I have misplaced my manual and all I need to know is how to set the timer to record something. I know to push the Timer Prog. button on the remote and how to set the date, time, channel, and recording mode but it doesnt record. I noticed that when I set all of this info. that if I turn the DVR off that the Timer Rec. light on the front of the player lights up. I tried to record something using the timer by setting the timer info and turning it off but noticed that when I returned from work that it didn't record anything. Could anyone tell me how to use the timer on this thing.
